LAMELLA DISSOLVED AIR FLOTATION UNITS

BIO MASS IMPIANTI can supply a full range of standard, fully prefabricated machines in order to cover many applications, with treatment capacities ranging from 50 up to 400.000 litres/hour..  

Flotation tanks are entirely constructed in stainless steel.  Pipelines and all other parts in contact with the liquid are constructed with stainless steel or polypropylene.  Each model can be equipped with on-line flocculation reactors, automatic or semi-automatic polymer preparator, chemical dosing pumps and pH meters with proportional controllers for process optimisation.

INDUSTRIAL AND MUNICIPAL  DISCHARGES

The largest LDAF compact unit ever built and delivered on the Italian market was projected, built and commissioned to a sewage treatment plant for final effluent treatment before discharge to surface water.

This single unit is able to treat 350 m3/h.

A further improvement was also made for this plant, in order to shift the use of the DAF unit from the final effluent of the biological system (original design and application) to the treatment of the overflow rain water in the wet season.

A DAF fully prefabricated unit can be well fitted in an existing biological treatment plant, to be used where it becomes necessary.

It can work in head of the biological process for lowering the influent organic content as well as in parallel to the primary treatment for treating directly peak or storm flows or for final suspended solids removal in case of any occurred problem on the whole process.

Another Lamella DAF unit, with a treatment capacity of 200 m3/h, has been installed at a civil primary biological treatment plant where seasonal overflows of raw wastewater, taken after primary settling and screening, feed the DAF process.

The wastewater feed line was provided with an in-line dosing of aluminium polycloride with no facility for an appropriate mixing and a final dosing a small way upstream of the saturator feed inlet of an anionic polimer, made by an unknown manufacturer but the cheapest on the market. The insufficient mixing of the aluminium polycloride and the use of an inappropriate polimer does not provide the best possible flocculation for the most efficient flotation process.

However the following average results were obtained during the whole season as per analysis made periodically by the customer:

Recently, the chemical line was reviewed and equipped with the necessary equipment for a more suitable in-line flocculation, improving the whole process results.

SLAUGHTER HOUSE INSTALLATION

LHDAF units can easily be fitted also in slaughter house applications both for pre or complete treatment of the discharged effluent.  

A fine grit for inorganic removal and on-line chemical flocculation always precedes the lamella dissolved air flotation.  

Saturation and sludge pumps, together with the electrical control panel and all process control equipment are mounted and connected on board inside the DAF unit itself.
